Harrogate Theatre125th Celebration
Friday 25th July at 7pm

We have been invited to celebrate the theatre's 125th year alongside other local drama and musical groups. We'll be preforming our award winning play '23 Hill End' written and directed by group member Alison Gilmour.

This piece of theatre has inclusivity and diversity at its core and was awarded the National Heritage Award at the All England Theatre Festival and Nidderdale Festival's award for staging.

The play uses a narrator, a BSL signer and projected images making it accessible to the blind, partially sighted and deaf community.

It is an uplifting piece of drama with themes of community and connection, enjoyable and accessible to an audience of all ages.

'A Month of Sundays by Bob Larbey
19th -21st June 2025

This poignant comedy, set in a nursing home in 1986, is about families, love and growing old. Come along and meet 'inmates' Cooper, sharp as pin but with a failing body and his friend Aylott whose mind just won't keep up. Their witty repartee will have you laughing and crying as they plan their escape, play chess and drink whisky. The duo navigate their old age believing life can only be lived with humour.

The play won the Evening Standard Award for best comedy in 1986 and was described by the Daily Mail as a play that: "lifts the spirits and reinforces our humanity."

Bob Larbey's other credits include TV sitcoms: Please Sir, The Good Life, Ever Decreasing Circles  and A Fine Romance. With such a great pedigree you can be sure of some great dialogue and storytelling in 'A Month of Sundays'
