Get Involved!
Lots of people assume that the only role to play in amateur dramatics is that of an actor. And you couldn't be further from the truth. In fact, actors are often outnumbered by people working behind the scenes to ensure that a production goes according to plan.
Without exaggeration, our performances simply could not take place, were it not for the many other parties that pull it all together. So if you enjoy performing arts, but the idea of being in front of an audience doesn't appeal, don't be deterred - there are loads of other opportunities.
Have a look at some of the "back stage" roles below and remember that no experience is necessary - this is amateur dramatics after all. We do what we do for fun, everyone has to start somewhere and we'll happily show you the ropes!

Directing
A crucial role that brings every performance to life. Set design, movement of actors, delivery of lines, use of props, sound and lighting: it's their vision that we're bringing to life.

Producing
Appreciating both artistry and the business side of things, the producer takes care of licensing, venues, budgets and more!

Stage Manage
Behind every show is a Stage Manager, overseeing the practical side of taking a Director's vision from our rehearsal space to an actual stage. A fascinating and challenging role, they are unsung heroes!

Technical
Sometimes bold, often subtle - the right choice of lighting, music and sound effects can make the world of difference. Don't worry if you've never done it before - we'll show you the ropes!
Costumes +
From period dress to graphic prosthetic wounds, these skilled individuals help make every character as authentic and plausible as possible.

Props
Often overlooked by an audience, some plays involve dozens of props and managing that is no easy task!

Set Building
A decent set can be the defining feature of a performance. If you enjoy DIY, we would love to bring you on board!

Marketing
Posters, programs, social media, the website... making sure people know what we're up to is critical to bringing in an audience.

And More!!
And there are lots of other opportunities as well: we need people to help with publicity, support front of house, organise social events, play readings and workshops, manage our accounts. You name it - there is something for everyone!
