The Award Winning Woodlands Drama Group started life in 1969 as a parent / teacher initiative at Woodlands School. Some of its founder members are still active today.

We performed at Woodlands School until 1998, when we moved to Harrogate Theatre Studio. Despite moving away from the Woodlands community, the group managed to retain its core support and also acquired a new audience as a result of performing in a town centre venue.

We've rehearsed at a variety of venues around Harrogate and during the social distancing rules during Covid even in the driveways and gardens of some of our members so we were ready to perform when allowed! We are nothing if not resourceful!

These days, we are delighted to use the St. Roberts Club in Robert Street as our as our 'home' for rehearsals, play readings and an annual performance. The fact that they also have a super little bar (two in fact!) obviously doesn't factor into our bias at all!
